Atlus is bringing Persona 3, 4 and 5 to Game Pass

Publisher Atlus confirmed some exciting news at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022. It is teaming up with Xbox to bring Persona 3, 4, and 5 to Game Pass. This will be the first time that both Persona 3 and Persona 5 will be playable on PC with only Persona 4 being available on Steam.

Even better is that it’s the enhanced version of all three games that are coming. That means that we’re getting Persona 3 Portable and Persona 5 Royal. Both of these versions have extra content and various gameplay improvements that were not present in the original games.

First up is Persona 5 Royal. This enhanced version of Persona 5 will come to Game Pass and PC on October 21. As with most Persona games, it was previously only available on PlayStation consoles. Although, it is not believed that Sony and Atlus had any specific deal in place to keep Persona exclusive. A belief that looks to have been true judging by this announcement.

In the future, both Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will follow Royal onto Game Pass. An exact release date was not given for either of these games. Equally, how each of these games will be distributed is still unclear. The trailer confirms that all three are coming to PC but not the stores that they will be sold on. Although, given that Persona 4 Golden performed so well on Steam, it would be surprising if the other two games don’t follow in its footsteps.

No more exclusivity

For the longest time, Persona was a PlayStation exclusive. Outside of spin-offs like Persona 5 Strikers, all of the mainline games were only released on PlayStation. An official reason for this was never provided by Atlus, but it isn’t too uncommon for Japanese developers to stick to their home consoles. Regardless, that era has finally come to an end much to the delight of PC gamers.
