Thanks to a new listing on the Epic Games Store, we now know the system requirements our PCs will need to run Crysis Remastered. The stress tests will begin later this month, when the title drops for PC and current gen consoles. It’s been a long time since the seminal shooter released with it’s infamous “Can it run Crysis?” reputation. This new listing at last reveals whether or not we will go through the same technical heartache as back then.
In short, Crysis Remastered isn’t anywhere near as demanding as the original was back in 2007. That version had a reputation for demanding incredibly high specs for the time and a lot of PCs simply couldn’t run it. Thankfully, Crysis Remastered is more tame in that regard. For instance, the 8 GBs of minimum recommended RAM should be achievable for many these days.
Minimums and recommendations
The full minimum requirements ask for Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-3450 or AMD Ryzen 3, 8 GB of RAM, 20 GB of storage space, DX11, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon 470, and at least 4 GB of GPU memory. Pretty tame by modern PC standards and even semi-modern systems should be able to run Crysis Remastered with ease.
The full recommended specs state the same operating system, storage, and Direct X version, but call for a few other upgrades. You’ll want an Intel Core i5-7600k or AMD Ryzen 5, 12 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or AMD Radeon Vega 56 and 8 GB of GPU memory. Again, a build within reach, so Crysis Remastered shouldn’t be melting very many gaming PCs.
With this in mind, it’s unclear how far the recommended specs will push Crysis Remastered. The game is set to support software ray tracing, state-of-the-art depth of field, particle effects, and a lot more. However, we can’t see these system requirements running all of the high-end features for Crysis Remastered at both smooth performance and high resolutions. Therefore, it may be wise to aim a little higher than what’s presented here. Fortunately, Nvidia has a little something called the RTX 30 Series that will certainly help you out.
Crysis Remastered launches September 19 on PC via the Epic Games Store.
