For all of you fans of Sukeban Games’ VA-11 HALL-A, there is some disappointing news. If you have been waiting for the sequel to the 2016 bartending narrative game, it seems like we will not see it for quite some time. N1RV Ann-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action was originally slated for a release in 2020, but unfortunately that is no longer a possibility and it is delayed indefinitely. The studio shared that the production of the game ran into critical problems. As such, the team felt that putting a window or date on the game’s release would be counterproductive. The game will be done when it is done.
According to another update on the status of the game, there were creative differences over the story in N1RV Ann-A. These required some ironing out that has resulted in a better narrative. That, however, required a reconfiguration of different areas as well. Developer Fernando Damas also suffered from burnout after insisting on being the sole programmer of the game.
In order to alleviate the problems, Damas revealed that the team has a plan. There will be better planning with more transparency. Regular updates will be provided to fans, with only the release date being a mystery.
Plans in the pipeline
In addition to N1RV Ann-A, Sukeban Games is also considering delays on other projects. This will have no impact on the game’s development, as the team has catered enough resources on all fronts. That said, Damas has apologized to fans regarding the delay of the bartending game.
Despite all of the problems, it seems that N1RV Ann-A is certainly in a better position now. The next time we hear anything about the game, it will hopefully be all good news. In the mean time, you can wishlist the game on Steam to keep up with the updates.
