For Destiny 2 players, October is a familiar month of spooky offerings. As it is written, so it shall be done. Bungie has unveiled the third annual Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost, and Guardians will find things somewhat familiar. You will be collecting spooky new masks to don, find endless amount of candy and chocolate coins, and of course, look on enviously at others wearing the new armor ornaments available in the Eververse Store.
To get started, just head over to the Tower and speak to Eva Levante. Once you get your new mask, you are ready to revel in the festivities. That will include going back to the Haunted Forest, which has seen some changes thanks to the Spider. Thanks to the Cipher Decoders provided by the Spider, you will have the opportunity to open special caches at the end of every Haunted Forest visit. Up to five can be opened each time, as long as you have enough Decoders. Doing so can reward you with a Legendary piece of gear, masks, or shaders. The biggest draw is the new rolls of either the Horror Story or the Braytech Werewolf.
Same, but different
There are also Festival Bounties on offer from Eva during the event. Completing these challenges in Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost and earn yourself more XP, Bright Dust, Glimmer, and more chocolate coins. This will set you up nicely to redeem some of the more exclusive loot. A new Exotic Ghost, Sparrow, and Ship are up for grabs. Those are definitely looking like must-haves for the season.
All things consider, 2020’s Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost definitely does not offer anything new outside of the Eververse items. We are getting the same event with familiar rewards. Perhaps the more hardcore of Guardians would be excited with double Nightfall loot. After all, it is the most reliable way of getting all the Ascendant Shards, Enhancement Prisms, and Exotic Armor you can ask for.
Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost will take place from October 6 to November 3.
