In and amongst all the big new flashy games at TGA sits Fall Guys, still trucking along with ever-increasing popularity. To sustain that, developer Mediatonic continues to add to its weird and wonderful party game. The Season 3 update for Fall Guys is suitably wintery, bringing a whole load of themed content to boot.
Some of this was teased earlier this week, when we reported on three new holiday themed costumes. Now, a trailer at The Game Awards fully reveals season 3, and all of the content that comes along with it. Multiply that number of costumes by 10, and you’re about there. But that’s not all.
Season 3 of Fall Guys will also bring seven new stages in its winter themed update. That means even more places to cause bean-filled mayhem over the festive season. The exact details of each stage haven’t been revealed, but we do know that pretty much the entirety of season 3 revolves around the holidays. Mediatonic will be revealing more on the specifics of the season between now and launch.
That launch will take place on December 15, so we don’t have long to wait. The developer also says to expect a load more festive surprises across the season, with the content not stopping at seven levels and over 30 costumes. Again, no hints just yet on what those surprises might be.
A bean-filled phenomenon
If you’ve been living under a rock or just don’t particularly care about multiplayer games, Fall Guys took the gaming world by storm this year. It sort of dropped out of nowhere on PC and PS4 back in August, and subsequently became the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game ever.
The premise is pretty simple. It’s a game show mixed with a battle royale. A bunch o’ beans duke it out across wild and wacky game show stages, where only one winner can take the final crown. It became a streaming hit in the months after launch, and well, the rest is history.
Fall Guys season 3 arrives December 15.
