Naya Rivera’s 4-Year-Old Son Reveals His Mom’s Last Word Before Drowning

According to the official autopsy report for actress Naya Rivera, her 4 year old son, Josey, who was with her at Lake Piru when she drowned, revealed what his mom’s last word was. It’s heartbreaking that she was not able to get it at that crucial moment but apparently, the little boy heard his mom say ‘help’ before she went underwater, never to be seen alive again.

The ‘opinion’ section on the autopsy report that was first obtained by HollywoodLife, states what Josey told the authorities ‘that they entered the water and after he was back on the boat, she yelled ‘help’ and then went underwater.’

The same report also confirmed that the cause of death was drowning and labeled it as an ‘accident.’

It goes on to detail that: ‘According to wind records for the lake area, the high wind speed went up to 8 mph and there were wind gusts greater than 10 mph and up to as high as 21 mph on the afternoon. [The area where she was found] had a depth at the lake of about 25-30 feet, with an underwater shelf nearby that was about 65-70 feet deep.’

As you might remember, Naya’s son was found sleeping on the rented boat alone, wearing a life vest, by another boater, hours later.

This is so unfair…there's not enough words to express the hole left in everyone's hearts. I can't believe this is life now. I don't know if I'll ever believe it. You were just here… We were just in the back swimming with Josey the day before. Life just isn't fair. I don't know what to say…I'm thankful for our times and our journey that brought us together and gave us the sweetest and kindest smart little boy we could ever hope for. I remember sometimes you used to get annoyed at me: "Ryan can you stop snap chatting!" Haha. I'm glad I didn't listen to you because I have hundreds and probably thousands of snaps and videos that Josey will have forever and know his momma loved him more than life, and how much fun we had together as he was growing up. Life is all about good times and bad times but with Josey it makes the bad a little less so because a part of you will always be with us. He'll never forget where he came from. We miss you. We will always love you. Love you Meep. 🖤💔🖤 ♥️ To everyone that reached out and I haven't had a chance to or just didn't get back to you…thank you all for the overwhelming love and support you've sent our way. I'll just say in closing, be kind to yourself, be kind to others, forgive…forget…don't hold grudges….if you have nothing nice to say maybe try not to say anything. There's peace in silence. Time on Earth is precious and you just never know….you never know what could happen. Hold your loved ones close, and cherish the times you have with those you care about. ♥️

Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office stated back in July after she was found, that ‘The autopsy findings are consistent with drowning and the condition of the body is consistent with the time she was submerged. No traumatic injuries or disease were identified at the autopsy. There is no indication from the investigation or the examination that drugs or alcohol played a role.’

Naya Rivera, who’s best known for her role in Glee, drowned on July 8 but she was only found on July 13 so that is listed as the day she passed.
