It’s no secret that the launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards has been nothing short of a mess for consumers. From bots snatching up all available product to scalpers trying to profit on the shortage with greatly exaggerated prices, it’s been a headache for many. With the entry-level GeForce RTX 3060 Ti now launching, many are hoping that the latest release will go smoother and offer more stock availability. According to various retailers, that should be the case thanks to an expected increase in product availability.
A survey conducted of 12 retailers across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia by Hardware Canucks claims that the initial on-hand stock of the RTX 3060 Ti is equal to that of the RTX 3090, 3080, and 3070 combined. There were, however, some retailers stating that the stock is more along the lines of the 3070, which isn’t that high.
What’s more is that no matter what the stock estimate happened to be, all of the polled retailers expected to sell out of the new graphics cards on day one.
For people wondering about the RTX 3060 Ti stock situation we polled our contacts at 12 retailers.

Most said initial 3060Ti stock = 3080 + 3070 + 3090 combined.
Some said ~ 3070 stock levels
ALL expect selling out on Day 1.

Nvidia confirms more stock
After seeing the survey results, PC Invasion reached out to a rep from Nvidia on the rumored stock increase. In a quick response, Nvidia confirmed that there will be more stock at launch as well as in the weeks following.
When asked how this was possible, the representative at Nvidia said it was due to “having a better understanding of the demand for the product.” Even with that better understanding of the demand, it’s unlikely that enough product will be available to satisfy all of those looking to buy the cheapest available Ampere graphics card. There’s only so many chips produced ahead of launch, meaning that it’s likely many will still be left disappointed.
Hopefully, more people who actually want to use the card will get to buy one as opposed to those looking to make a quick buck on the resell market.
The RTX 3060 Ti launched on December 2 and retails starting at $399 USD.
