Scorn release date confirmed alongside new gameplay trailer showing

Retaining patience can be a grueling affair when it comes to long periods of game development. That can be particularly true for crowd-funded games such as Scorn, which has been in development since 2014. Fast forward to today, and it’s about ready for primetime. A new gameplay trailer for Scorn debuted at the Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, noting a final release date of October 21.

This will undoubtedly excite those that’ve suffered the full wait. There’s a certain irony to the situation given the morbid theme of the game, alongside the controversy that happened last year where the developers got a little heated with upset fans.

The original release was set for September 2021, but the developers had to push things back another year to wrap up the project. This expectedly led to some backlash and prompted one of the developers to fire back and make some comments that were later apologized for. Perhaps we can get past that rough patch now though, and get back to enjoying the premise behind this game.

You don’t look to be feeling all that well

Scorn is one of those games that just drops you into a hellish reality and you’re gonna either die or barely make it out alive. You wake up already looking like a corpse and pretty much have to figure things out from there.

The world you inherit is dark and twisted, with themes of suffering and death quite amok. Foul creatures run the factory of misery, and it’s clear you’ll be returning the treatment to those in your path.

Anyone that likes horror titles with a healthy dose of gore might want to keep Scorn on their radar, especially as the October 21 release date draws near. 2022 is shaping up to be another good year for horror with titles like Ill, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and The Callisto Protocol.
