The action continues to come in EA Motive’s Star Wars: Squadrons. While there has been a slate of new shows and entertainment announced for the universe, the latest space combat game is not getting left behind either. In the latest Star Wars: Squadrons 4.0 update, players will be able to count on some major additions to the galaxy. Two new ships are entering the fray. The Imperial TIE Defender adds to the adaptability of the fleet, but more importantly, the New Republic is getting the iconic B-Wing.
The uniquely shaped B-Wing starfighter will make for a key addition in the Star Wars: Squadrons 4.0 update. The thin profile will make it hard to hit, while being able to rotate around the cockpit will make for some interesting evasive maneuvers. As a heavy gunship targeting the more prime targets, it might just be too good for its role. The Ion Beam is particularly effective on capital ships, you just need to get close enough. Whether an escort is needed or you are just so damn good, having the B-Wing is a good thing.
A new map also arrives as part of the Star Wars: Squadrons 4.0 update. Now you can experience both the Fleet Battles and Dogfight gametype on the Fostar Haven map. With a more crowded arena full of nooks and crannies, it will definitely spice things up for the two modes.
Freedom and choice
For those crying out for more freedom, you have got it. Custom matches have also made it to the game. You can now set up your own lobbies to have some fun amongs your friends.
As is with each new update, you can also expect more cosmetics for both the cockpit and your pilot. The Star Wars: Squadrons 4.0 update also adds new components, which can potentially change up how you approach conflicts.
The amount of content and support EA Motive has given the game is awesome. There are a lot more details to know about the new update, so head to the full patch notes for those. We definitely loved our time in space, and you should too if you ever wanted to feel like a badass space pilot making a difference in the galaxy.
